Jeff Handy
President
With over 20 years of technology and corporate growth experience, Jeff Handy is a
seasoned executive who is able to deliver systems and services for the intricate and
complex environments of government agencies and commercial businesses. As President of
Fulcrum Information Technology (IT) Services, Mr. Handy provides the overall vision for the
company. Mr. Handy is responsible for overall company performance and profitability, as
well as for facilitating Fulcrum IT's growth in the technical services arena and establishing
Fulcrum IT's long-term growth initiatives. Under his leadership, Fulcrum IT has transitioned from
a reseller of commercial products to an IT engineering firm that delivers technical
services to government clients. In addition, Mr. Handy represents Fulcrum IT at numerous
professional forums which support defense, civilian, intelligence, and commercial
customers.
Prior to becoming president of Fulcrum IT, Mr. Handy was President of Government Micro
Resources, Inc. (GMRI) where he was responsible for the strategic direction and revenue
oversight of the company. Before assuming this position he led GMRI's Professional Services
Business Unit, which focused on the delivery and execution of Information Technology (IT)
services to defense, civilian, intelligence, and commercial customers. In addition, Mr.
Handy served on multiple industry and government advisory boards including GMRI's Board of
Directors.
Before joining GMRI, Mr. Handy served in various operations management roles, most
recently as Vice President and Director of Business Development for BTG, Inc. where he led
an organization responsible for defense and intelligence community business development.
His prior positions include Vice President and Director of the C4ISR and Vice President and
Director of the Military Systems Divisions. In these roles he managed intelligence agency
and unified command programs that provided network and systems engineering support, data
mining, decision support systems, parallel and distributed computing, data fusion, and
battle management. Previously, Mr. Handy spent over six years working in the Naval Research
Laboratory's Information Systems Division providing insight and support for battle
management, anti-submarine warfare, the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), and Massively
Parallel Computing (MPC) research.
Mr. Handy holds a master's degree in Information Systems from George Mason University as
well as degrees in Accounting, Management, and Computer Science from Bluefield State
College.
Mr. Handy is a member of multiple professional and industry associations. In addition to
Fulcrum IT, Mr. Handy serves on the Board of Directors of NexGenVS. He is also a founding
partner of this early stage technology company that leverages a patented peer-to-peer
architecture for live mobile video products. Mr. Handy is a member of the Young Presidents'
Organization (YPO) where he is Treasurer and serves on the Executive and Membership
Committees. He and his wife Kimberly reside in Fairfax Station, Virginia.
