USSOCOM
USSOCOM is a unified combatant command responsible for all Special Operations Forces (SOF) in the U.S. Department of Defense. USSOCOM responsibility includes training and equipping SOF to perform the missions anywhere in the world at any time. Specific responsibilities of USSOCOM include developing, acquiring, integrating, fielding, and supporting special operations' peculiar equipment, material, supplies, and systems and ensuring the interoperability of equipment and forces.
The IT enterprise consists of clients spread over a global wide area backbone and the contract includes all IT services for USSOCOM headquarters, all components, Theater SOCs and subordinate commands. Fulcrum supports planning, design, analysis, management, operation, and maintenance of all SOCOM garrison and deployed networks and the communication and network infrastructures for data, voice, and video. Fulcrum supports this effort with people in Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Camp LeJeune, NC; the Pentagon; Hawaii; and the Philippines.
Fulcrum supports the configuration of all project versions within the SOF Integration Facility, including the development and test environments, to ensure compatibility of all deployed products. Tasks also include information assurance, transmission and communication security requirements, requirements management, configuration management, hardware maintenance, and disaster recovery.
Specific project objectives include:
- achieve Command-wide interoperability for all aspects of the IT enterprise;
- establish standardized operations;
- increase overall performance and communications;
- reduce costs;
- provide a single point of contact for the overall management of the IT enterprise; and
- manage technology refreshment for the SOF enterprise.
